I just ate the most glorious, delicious, heavenly croque monsieur EVER. It was all oven-baked and the cheese layered thickly on top was melty and also crispy on the edges and wow. I need to make these at home (I think they'd be good with turkey instead of ham, but the gruyere stays...such a wonderful cheese!).
We're about to say goodbye to France for a week, as there's a train for us to catch this afternoon that'll take us to the land of the Catalans - Barcelona here we come!
